Pharmacy Construction
Dispensary layouts, secure storage and retail frontage built so staff move quickly and customers find what they came for.
Commercial service
A pharmacy has two jobs at once: a controlled, efficient dispensary and a retail floor that sells. We build both — secure storage and workflow casework at the back, clear sightlines, lighting and fixtures at the front.
What's included
Every project is scoped and priced before we start.
Fill, verify and pickup stations sequenced to cut steps per script.
Locked cabinetry, safes and access control built to requirement.
Private, soundproofed rooms for immunization and counselling.
Shelving, endcaps, lighting and signage that move product.
Counters, power and data rough-in for your POS and printers.
Barrier-free counters, routes and washrooms to code.
How it runs
We read the space, the lease and the landlord requirements before anything is drawn, so the scope matches what you are actually allowed to build.
Layouts, engineering where structure moves, and the development and building permits driven through the city by us.
A line-by-line quote before demolition, with long-lead equipment identified and the contingency named out loud.
Trades sequenced around your opening date, with every inspection booked and cleared as we go rather than at the end.
Deficiencies cleared, occupancy permit in hand, warranties and manuals collected and passed to you.
Dispensary first
A pharmacy is two businesses sharing a lease: a regulated dispensary and a retail shop. The dispensary has fixed requirements — secure storage, counselling privacy, sightlines, workflow between intake and pickup — and everything else has to be arranged around it. Designing the retail floor first and fitting the dispensary into what is left is how practices end up with a counter nobody can work behind.
We lay out the dispensary and the counselling area against your college requirements, then design the retail floor to move customers past the categories that actually sell.
Common questions
Anything not covered here, just ask on the call.
Ten to sixteen weeks on site for a typical retail pharmacy, with permits ahead of that. Dispensary millwork and any automation are the long-lead items and are ordered as soon as the layout is signed off.
Yes — a dispensary attached to a medical clinic is a common pairing and often shares a build. The separation of the regulated area from the clinic still has to be real, so we treat them as two scopes under one contract.
We build to the requirements your licensing body sets and coordinate the trades and inspections through to occupancy. The licence application itself is held by the pharmacist, and we attend the walkthrough and clear anything raised.
Often, for a refresh. We phase the work, hoard the active area, and keep the dispensary secure and operating throughout. A full reconfiguration of the dispensary usually needs a short closure, and we plan it with you rather than announce it.
